HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – In Huntsville, lunch could also come with a side of helping homeless veterans.
Every month at Cummings Research Park, food trucks serve lunch, and patrons help support a cause. This month, people can leave donations for the Veterans of North Alabama Service Assistance Program.
The group helps veterans as they transition into homes.
People donated housewares to help those former military members.
This monthly service project has become a tradition.
“We decided that we wanted to really find a way to give back to the community and particularly nonprofits that may not have large development staff, so they may need more assistance than perhaps others. and so we wanted a way to help those nonprofits that need a little bit more help,” said Erin Koshut, executive director of Cummings research Park.
Next month, benefits supporting Christmas charities year-round believe anyone is welcome to stop by and get lunch, so mark your calendars for Nov. 12. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 990 Explorer Blvd.
