As a result of the 2016 CRP Master Plan, opportunities for redevelopment abound in CRP East. From reduced setbacks, increased height limits and a new zoning ordinance to enable mixed-use developments in CRP East, the City of Huntsville has created support for private companies to invest and redevelop existing properties. Additionally, the federal and state governments have indicated that CRP is an opportunity zone, which opens up financial support for redevelopment as well.
Two nodes currently under development:
ARCADIA DEVELOPMENT SITE
The Arcadia Development site is a +/- 3.78 acre multi-use zoned site located in the heart of Cummings Research Park. This site was designated by the current City of Huntsville administration as well as the Cummings Research Park Board as one of three multi use nodes in the park’s Master Plan. Along with its proximity to many of the cities top companies, this site provides close proximity to Huntsville’s main education base.
UAH EXECUTIVE PLAZA
UAH’s redevelopment of Executive Plaza is also a key redevelopment in our master plan. The university has embarked on a visioning process to establish a new social heart for our campus where students can live and spend time outside of the classroom and faculty and staff can have greater out-of-the-office amenities. This dynamic district will be home to lively streetscapes and will include lifestyle amenities such as dining, entertainment, and outdoor recreation.
