The University of Alabama in Huntsville’s 500+ acre campus resides in Cummings Research Park. Nearly 10,000 students are enrolled in over 100 areas of study across nine colleges. The university’s 16 high-tech research centers and labs are responsible for $99 million in annual research expenditures and ranks 5th in federally funded Aerospace Engineering research expenditures.
Home to the Auburn University Applied Research Institute, the campus facilitates cross-domain collaboration among agencies, and supplies our partners access to our talented student researchers pursuing fields in Defense, Aerospace and Biotech sectors. It is well equipped to support applied research and development work for Huntsville/Redstone customers as well as hosting alumni and development events.
Calhoun Community College’s Huntsville campus lies in Cummings Research Park and is the only two-year college campus in the nation to be located in a major research park. Calhoun offers 49 associate degree options and 52 career/certificate programs, providing workforce solutions for automotive and advanced manufacturing, information technology, healthcare, and more.
Columbia High School is a 9th-12th grade high school located in Cummings Research Park . It is the only authorized International Baccalaureate World School in North Alabama. Cummings Research Park and Columbia High School frequently partner together to bring workforce development opportunities and career exposure to students.
The Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering (ASCTE) is a 9th-12th grade state residential magnet high school located in Cummings Research Park. It is Alabama’s third statewide magnet school open for students from across the state but the only residential high school in the nation focused on cyber technology and engineering. ASCTE is for Alabama students who are looking to advance their education in math, science, engineering, and cyber security.

Cummings Research Park is home to several childcare centers to meet the demands of working parents.
Located off Bradford Drive NW, our innovative curriculum will teach your child literature, math, and dramatic play. Our teachers are highly trained in childhood education. Their passion for educating and nurturing children helps the students meet their emotional, behavioral, and intellectual needs. Our location is small, which allows our teachers to pay special individual attention to each child regardless of their background, experiences, or abilities.
Premier Preschools offer a variety of program alternatives to meet the needs of today’s families. These include a full-time and part-time infant and toddler, preschool, and pre-Kindergarten program, along with an after school enrichment program, holiday/interim program, and a summer camp program that provides a variety of program weeks during the summer for school-age children.
The UAH Early Learning Center provides the highest quality of early childhood education services to children three months up to five years of age, giving them a firm foundation for their next educational experience. Children are grouped according to their age and individual needs in an integrated environment. We are a unique, high-quality program that provides services that benefit the whole child.
