Construction is beginning on a first-of-its-kind development in Cummings Research Park and on an apartment community in Madison.
According to Southern Exposure Reports, building permits were issued for both last week.
Three permits for buildings totaling $52.5 million were issued to Bobo Development Group and Retail Specialists for the Arcadia project at 4810 Bradford Drive. It is being built on the former site of John Paul II Catholic High School. Crews began demolished the building that once housed the high school as well as other tenants earlier this year.
The Arcadia is mixed-use development and will feature office and retail space as well as 231 apartment units. The development will be across Bradford Drive from the under-construction Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering.
