Huntsville, Ala. – CFD Research has been awarded a $6.9M Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) contract from the U.S. Air Force AFWERX office to enhance U.S. ground test capabilities. CFD Research will conduct design, fabrication and test activities to support enhancement of test facilities of interest to the Air Force and other DoD agencies.
The Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) program is run by the Air Force AFWERX office with the intent to bridge the capability gap between current SBIR/STTR Phase II efforts and Phase III scaling efforts, facilitating delivery of strategic capabilities for the Department of the Air Force. A rigorous process is used to ensure that end users are committed to utilize the outcomes of the STRATFI projects and any SBIR funding that is provided is required to be matched by previous or ongoing government funding.
