[GOVCON Wire] AEgis Technologies Group, a portfolio company of private equity firm Arlington Capital Partners, has acquired small unmanned aerial systems provider EMRC Heli for an undisclosed sum in a push to expand its UAS portfolio and build up its capabilities in directed energy area.
EMRC was founded by Tommy Whitaker in 2010 and is focused on the design, prototyping, production, integration and testing of rotary-wing and fixed-wing small UAS in support of government and commercial clients, AEgis said Wednesday.
AEgis develops and deploys novel instrumentation and targets to characterize high-power microwave and high-energy laser DE weapon systems.
“Our depth in advanced HEL and HPM UAS based target board instrumentation uniquely positions us to field operational sUAS with the capabilities and resiliency to win in a multidomain fight,” AEgis CEO Jonathan Moneymaker told GovCon Wire.
“It’s great to have a partner in David (Wodlinger) and Arlington Capital who understand the bigger picture and support our investment to accelerate our position in each mission domain we operate in.”
