The Huntsville Hospital Foundation and Smarter Every Day have partnered to create an amazing way to get crucial supplies distributed to medical locations most in need throughout the Tennessee Valley. Huntsville’s own Destin Sandlin (Smarter Every Day) issued the call to Huntsville engineers: “It’s time to help the medical community.” We are proud to say our Technical Fellows have answered that call.
In response to Destin’s request, PeopleTec employee-owners are using 3D printers to “beef up the supply of face shields,” and they have delivered over 50 face shields to the medical community in the past week. Using the company’s 3D printer, our Technical Fellows were able to create over 30 face shields before Friday’s deadline. Going above and beyond, our Technical Fellows have offered up their own home 3D printers, private supplies, and personal time to create face shields for the community workers, including those often overlooked—non-profit organizations. PeopleTec families are even joining the efforts! On Monday, April 6th, Technical Fellow Greg Kruse delivered over a dozen face shields, created using his home 3D printer with the help of his daughter, to the Arc of Madison County, an advocacy organization that provides services to adults and children with disabilities.
