Huntsville, AL – June 21, 2018 – Sentar, Inc. (Sentar), a Women-Owned Small Business, announced that the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Mitigation and Remediation Support (MARS) Team has received a FedHealthIT Innovation Award for its exceptional service.
Award winners were determined by a panel of judges that included government and industry leaders who evaluated applicants from across the industry, selecting awardees based on their willingness to take on achievable risk and to deliver real results in support of their mission.
“I want to thank colleagues within both DHA and SPAWAR-Atlantic for providing Sentar the opportunity to help execute the MARS team mission,” said Joe Sabin, Director of Health Information Technology (HIT). “I strongly believe this collaboration makes a tangible and persistent difference by elevating the security of myriad health systems, networks, applications, and records that support active duty and retired military and their families.”
For several years, the MARS team has contributed targeted security engineering capabilities and experience to both legacy Military Health System (MHS) environments (e.g., Navy Medicine) and Agency Programs’ cybersecurity requirements though virtual and onsite support. As an example, in the last year alone, the MARS team has designed and employed security control mechanisms to mitigate potentially critical vulnerabilities on-site at more than twenty five (25) Navy Medicine, two (2) Air Force Medical, and one (1) Army Medical Command MHS locations.
“Sentar has been a proud service provider to DHA, especially the MARS team, for a number of years. To have our team’s hard work in supporting the MARS objective recognized by our colleagues and peers in the industry is a great achievement.” said April Nadeau, Sentar’s Vice President of DHA, SPAWAR, Navy and Marine Corps.
Sentar was honored at the 4th annual FedHealthIT Innovation award ceremony held on June 12th, 2018 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. More than 300 federal health leaders from government and industry gathered to celebrate and recognize all 26 award winners representing VA, Military Health, Health and Human Services, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
